April Post

The purpose of this post is to keep the right-hand scroll bar in-sync with a listing for each month. This is a very bad reason for blogging, I know. But I’m sort of weird that way.

A second reason for this post is because my friend Tiffany was bugging me the other day about not blogging. So Tiff, this post is dedicated to you.

And here are another couple of random thoughts:

– I’m not ready for summer weather. I’ve been enjoying the pretty spring weather we’ve been experiencing here in ATX.
– I love Irish Breakfast tea, and not just for breakfast either.
– Work lately has been the most challenging it has ever been. Not sure what else to say about that.
– I love food from Masala Wok. So good!
– I have a new point and shoot Nikon camera that is smaller than my cell phone. I keep it in my purse, so Marianne, understand that you may get your photo taken more often than in the past. I’m sure you won’t mind.
– I love mussels. I had some in NYC on a recent trip and they were phenomenal.
– I recently went to a Hillsong United concert and felt really old. That said, it was awesome to see so many young people worshiping the Savior.
– I would like to hike Oak Creek Canyon again with Dad, Eryn, George, Jess, Marra, and Liisa
– I am completely in love with my nephew

"Teaching" Caspian to Jump

I’m not sure how much you actually “teach” a horse how to jump, but I did jump over it with him, so that counts for something, right? I think he has very nice scope and expression, given his age and that this was the first time for him to go over a real fence. Three-day evening in his future?

High Maintenance

I went to Starbucks today with a coworker and I was teasing her about being high maintenance as she ordered her “decaf-single-shot-extra-hot-vanilla-latte”. I was taking pride in my being not so high maintenance and then we started going back and forth a bit and the Barista’s behind the counter got involved in the conversation.

As I continued to brag about not being high maintenance, the Barista making my drink asked if he could take me to dinner at McDonald’s.

I laughed.

Maybe I’m not so low maintenance after all.

Heaven is a sweet maple syrup kiss

This week so far:

Listening to Steven Curtis Chapman’s new cd Beauty Will Rise. It’s rocking my world.

First night volunteering at R.O.C.K. The first step on a 1000 mile journey. Adorable kids. Fluffy horses. Dust on my boots. Tonight was dedicated to Lynn McGary.

Hard but good conversation with a friend. Truth is hard to speak sometimes. But good. It’s always good.

Massachusetts. Wow.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (ESV)
