I have the best sisters

Jess came for a week just after she finished her first year of college at Hillsdale. The three of us had a fabulous time doing girlie stuff (well, as girlie as we ever get) and enjoying just being together.

We all decided this will be our album cover – now we just need a band.

And of course, we spent a lot of time with the horses.

Courage and Honor

An email from my dad… about my grandpa who is currently in the hospital recovering from surgery on a broken ankle. Love you Grandpa.

~~~~~~~~
In the background, a nondescript European hillside and to the discriminating eye, the tracks of a U.S. Army half-track…an M-3, I think. On the slope below, two happy young men. That’s dad on the left…smiling sixty three years ago on May 8th, 1945—the day Germany formally surrendered.
God bless him.
Quirks
Quirks.
Keeping in step with my twin, I feel obliged to expound on my own.
1. I do not like to write the number 8 – in fact, my 8’s are always crooked and therefore disliked greatly. I prefer the number 3.
2. I do not count stairs. Rather I prefer to skip every-other stair when ascending, not caring whether I land on my right foot or left, only that I land squarely on either foot or both.
3. I don’t rub material.
4. Hearing someone with the hiccups makes me laugh – especially if my twin has the hiccups.
5. I, too, get the chills when hearing anything out of tune.
6. I love blackberries, but probably not as much as my twin.
And a couple extra:
7. I can’t sit still when watching a movie – I have to be doing something productive so I don’t get fidgety.
8. It drives me nuts when my personal email inbox has more than 100 emails in it. Right now my inbox has 967, so yeah, you guessed it, I’m going nuts.
9. I don’t like to floss. In fact, I find it the most annoying daily habit of all.
10. I really like to wash dishes. Especially in the winter when it’s cold. It’s the best way to get warm.
